Specialized Industry Audits: Manufacturing, NGO, Energy and Construction

Industry audits apply auditing standards to the specific accounting, regulatory and operational risks of a sector, such as cost accounting in manufacturing, donor compliance in NGOs or regulatory reporting in oil and gas. WDS combines ISA methodology with sector knowledge so that reports satisfy both auditors and regulators.

What does a manufacturing cost audit examine?

A cost audit verifies that cost records are maintained properly and that product costs, overhead absorption and inventory valuation are reasonable. For manufacturers it also reveals where margins are lost through wastage, idle capacity or poor pricing.

How are NGO and donor-funded projects audited?

Donor-funded projects usually need a special purpose audit that reports on whether funds were spent in line with the grant agreement, alongside the organisation's annual statutory audit. We are familiar with the reporting formats used by major bilateral and multilateral donors and with SECP requirements for section 42 companies.

What are the audit risks in construction and real estate?

Construction contracts involve revenue recognised over time under IFRS 15, variations and claims, retention balances and long-term subcontractor arrangements. We test percentage of completion estimates and contract costs project by project.

Do you support OGRA-regulated energy businesses?

Yes. Oil marketing companies, LPG distributors and other businesses licensed by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority must meet specific reporting and record-keeping requirements. We provide statutory audits and compliance reviews tailored to those requirements.
